Florida Wiener Dog Derby returns to Tampa Riverwalk

After an absence for two years due to the pandemic, the very popular Florida Weiner Dog Derby and Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa, Florida.
The event helps support local recues and promote actives lives for all dog families. The Dogs require no formal pre-training or club membership and can be registered on the official FWDD website for various events throughout the year around the state.

Disabled Military and First Responder Veterans with dogs:
There are no free spaces to park and a parking garage is immediately next to the park where this event is held. There are ADA compliant facilities and pathway access to the location of the race.
The Weiner Dog Derby is part of a larger event with vendors and a concert but is outdoors, so prepare of the Florida weather and bring water as always with outdoor events.
Some of the races have on site registration. Check with the registration tent ASAP when arriving. There are races for older dogs, and even small other breeds than dachshunds have a race. Plus other games and activities throughout the day.
