Fall/Winter 2022 Lure Racing is off and running in Florida!

This last weekend we traveled to Williston, Florida to cover the weekends Southern Most Sighthounds (SOMOS) two days of gazehound and all breed straight and oval track racing at the Williston Horse Park in central Florida. Dogs from across the south-east and as far as Tennessee were there and with the addition of "All Other K9" (AOK9) racing earlier this year, this included dogs over every size and color too.
You may be aware of Sighthound racing or Lure coursing. Fast CAT has also been very popular for all breeds, but the new AOK9 is all-breed but on a much larger track and multiple dogs released from a box. Muzzles are requires, but the community is a great one and eager to help newcomers. With small breeds, there may not be a loaner on hand, so check in with the club ahead of time. More to come soon!
