UDD dock diving arrives in Brooksville, Florida.

Tucked away in the rural countryside near Brooksville, Florida is the home of Shannon and Thomas Taaffe and the Dogs of Anarchy K9 Fitness. Over 25 dogs came to play at their new dock as they hosted their first United Dock Diving (UDD) event. With the Spring and Summer heat preventing most games for dogs till the Fall, dock diving remains the one all year competition in the state for your four-legged friends.
Dock Diving
Dock Diving may be one the the U.S.A. most original sports. Although international interest is growing, this is a dog sport born in rural America and first seen by the general public as an oddity on old cable hunting and fishing channels as a novel story piece to break up endless discussions on best camouflage and newest lures.
When once the docks were actual docks and the dogs were jumping into ponds, todays Dock Diving it typically a forty foot dock and forty foot long by five foot deep pool.
Ever evolving efforts have been made to ensure safety for the dogs competing and some standard of measures to allow for fair competition between various dogs. Every league has their own standards and it is a widely debated topic.

Shannon Taaffe is an experienced canine strength and conditioning coach (CSCC) with a formal education and accredited through North Carolina State University of Veterinary Medicine. She actively competes in a variety of dog sports herself, including dock diving where she has won awards and set league records with her own dogs.
With over 20 years of experience, she provides personalized programs using a wide variety of training and conditioning techniques Shannon has developed successfully over the years.
Now with a beautiful new dock and pool, Dogs of Anarchy will be hosting United Dock Diving (UDD) events on their property. With both a regular 40-foot dock and a lower training dock, and a massive 50-foot pool including both a distance suspended bumper rig and a vertical suspended bumper rig. One of only two locations in the state to have a vertical rig.
Wrapping Up
This impressive new dock in Brooksville provides a location, not only for dock diving but for full conditioning and training for dogs in central Florida. The location - though rural - sits not too far from the 589 expressway to the West and I-75 to the East. There was rather tight parking the date of this event, but since has been more than doubled in capacity.

The location is not accommodating to wheelchairs with no ADA restroom. There is no RV access on site as parking is tight and dry camping is not allowed.
